These recognised postgraduate qualifications allow you to study in an area of personal interest and offer: - an opportunity to upskill at your own pace
- flexible course delivery options
- the ability to step up to the MEd as and when you choose.
They have been structured so you can focus on your chosen specialisation or include a broad range of courses. Classes are held in the late afternoon, as block courses over several days, or at weekends, or are offered online, allowing you to continue working. Entry Requirements Entry requirements for both programmes are as for the MEd: - A BA degree with a major in Education; or
- A BEd or similar teaching degree; or
- A degree in a subject other than Education, and either a Diploma of Teaching or equivalent educational training and experience; or
- An Advanced Diploma of Teaching; or
- Evidence of extensive practical, professional or scholarly experience of an appropriate kind.
Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Professional Development (PGDEPD) This is a good choice for study leave because you can focus on your area of interest in education and gain a postgraduate qualification. When you return to your job, you may choose to go on to complete an MEd part-time. This qualification takes one year of full-time study or one and half years to two years part-time. Programme Requirements Four MEd courses, including the courses from one of the MEd specialisations, worth 120 points in total. Assessment All EDUC courses are internally assessed by a combination of essays and assignments. In some courses, class tests or a presentation may replace one of the written assignments. There are no examinations. At the beginning of each course students receive a Course Outline. This contains all the necessary information about the course including the number of lectures and tutorials, the course content, recommended readings, and information about the assignments.
