The Postgraduate Diploma in Business (PGDipBus) and Postgraduate Certificate in Business (PGCertBus) are designed for those students who wish to gain a postgraduate qualification in stages, ensuring they have the flexibility to study at their own pace. Students study advanced coursework papers in a specialist business discipline. Students may complete a Postgraduate Certificate qualification, then take a break before continuing on to the Postgraduate Diploma programme at a later date.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT
- Applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma and Postgraduate Certificate in Business are expected to have a Bachelors degree to a merit (B average) standard from a New Zealand University in the field in which they propose to undertake further study.
- Applicants who have an undergraduate degree in another field are usually expected to complete the Graduate Diploma in Business with a B average or better in their chosen subject before the Postgraduate Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate in Business.
- Applicants with relevant overseas qualifications will be assessed individually and may be required to undertake a preliminary course of study before entry into this programme.
- Applicants for whom English is a second language must have an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6.0 in each band.
STRUCTURE
To graduate with a Postgraduate Certificate in Business, students must successfully complete 60 points from their chosen discipline or from other papers subject to satisfying prerequisite requirements.
To graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma in Business, students must successfully complete 120 points from their chosen discipline or from other papers subject to satisfying prerequisite requirements.

FURTHER STUDIES
Completion of the Postgraduate Diploma in Business qualifies for entry to the MPBS; completion with a B- average or better qualifies for entry to the second year of the Master of Business programme.
