COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is intended for graduates who wish to extend their expertise in a particular area or discipline in which they have already completed some formal study. It is also available to graduates wishing to pursue a sequence of studies in a new area or discipline which may be of professional interest or use to them.

The course may be taken in any one of the disciplines or areas of study offered through Humanities and Social Sciences. These may vary depending on the campus of study.

Application may be made for permission to include one or more units taken outside the discipline or area of study, provided the 120 credit points constitute a sequence of related units.

The Melbourne (Bundoora) campus offers: Aboriginal studies; anthropology; archaeology; art history; Asian studies; Australian studies; Chinese; cinema studies; international development; English; gender, sexuality and diversity studies; Greek studies; history; Indonesian; Italian studies; Japanese; Latin; linguistics; North American studies; peace studies; philosophy (incorporating logic); politics; religion and spirituality studies; sociology; Spanish; theatre and drama.

At the Albury-Wodonga campus the following areas of study are available: English; history; politics; social sciences; sociology.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
IELTS (Academic) - minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0; or

TOEFL Computer-Based Test - A minimum score of 233 with a score of 5 in essay writing; or

TOEFL Paper-based Test - A minimum score of 575 with a score of 5 or more in the test of Written English; or

TOEFL Internet-based Test - A minimum score of 88 with no individual score less than 22; or

Completion of the English for Further Studies Advanced Stage 5B certificate at PG (postgraduate) level available from the La Trobe University Language Centre; or

Approved equivalent.
 
ACADEMIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A three-year Australian Bachelor's degree; diploma from a tertiary institution; or approved international equivalent.
