Year 2010 Award Graduate Diploma in International Development CRICOS course code 067404D Length 1 year Campuses Melbourne (Bundoora) Course description This course equips students with an appreciation of issues in social, economic and political development from a multidisciplinary perspective. It enables them to acquire an understanding of the ways in which national governments and non-government organisations have instituted programs of social and economic change for people in developing areas such as Africa, Latin America and Asia. Course structure Students complete a minimum of 120 credit points, including at least 40 credit points (two subjects) at third-year level. Students also take three compulsory subjects - Development, Globalisation and Culture, Gender and Development, and Development in Practice. In addition, students choose electives totalling 60 credit points. Contact hours Approximately nine (9) hours per week if studying full-time.
Tuition fee (AUD) 17 520 English language requirements IELTS (Academic) - minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0; or TOEFL Computer-Based Test - A minimum score of 233 with a score of 5 in essay writing; or TOEFL Paper-based Test - A minimum score of 575 with a score of 5 or more in the test of Written English; or TOEFL Internet-based Test - A minimum score of 88 with no individual score less than 22; or Completion of the English for Further Studies Advanced Stage 5B certificate at PG (postgraduate) level available from the La Trobe University Language Centre; or Approved equivalent. Academic entry requirements An Australian Bachelor's degree or approved international equivalent. Semester starts Semester 1 and 2 (March and July) Mid-year entry (July intake) is also available.
