It will be open only to those who have obtained an LLB degree or who have satisfied the requirements for graduation with an LLB. Students who have a maximum of two undergraduate courses to complete can apply for entry into the program provided the undergraduate courses can be completed at or before the end of the Graduate Diploma program. Attendance This program is taught in full-time intensive on-campus mode at the South Bank campus. The program is designed to run for 22 weeks and commences in January and/or July of each year. Students are also required to complete a 25 day clinical legal placement in an organisation specialising in a particular type or types of legal work. Professional recognition The program is accredited by the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board of Queensland (LPAB). Career opportunities Upon completion of the program, graduates will have satisfied the necessary practical training requirements of the Legal Profession Act 2004 and the Supreme Court (Legal Practitioner Admission) Rules 2004 for entry into the legal profession as a legal practitioner. - Client interviewing
- Legal writing
- Advising (including problem-solving and legal analysis)
- Legal drafting (non-litigious and litigious)
- Negotation, ADR and mediation
- Advocacy
These skills will be transferable to any legal environment in which graduates may find themselves working.
