COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide an entry to computing for graduates from other disciplines. It provides a foundation for students wishing to apply computing knowledge to their first field of expertise or to progress to further studies in computing. Students are required to complete four units of study.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
IELTS (Academic) - minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0; or

TOEFL Computer-Based Test - A minimum score of 233 with a score of 5 in essay writing; or

TOEFL Paper-based Test - A minimum score of 575 with a score of 5 or more in the test of Written English; or

TOEFL Internet-based Test - A minimum score of 88 with no individual score less than 22; or

Completion of the English for Further Studies Advanced Stage 5B certificate at PG (postgraduate) level available from the La Trobe University Language Centre; or

Approved equivalent.
 
ACADEMIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
An Australian Bachelor's degree in any discipline, or approved international equivalent. Preference is given to applicants who have studied Year 12 Mathematics, including the study of calculus.
 
SEMESTER STARTS
Semester 1 and 2 (March and July)
 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This course starts on 10 February (Semester 1) and 7 July (Semester 2).
 
PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION
Graduates of this course are recognised as Computer Professionals by the Australian Computer Society.
