These programs focus on 'hands-on' training in journalism practices and production, along with associated studies and research in journalism, photojournalism and mass communication, relevant to the Asia-Pacific region. Elective courses allow students to pursue interests in screen and digital production. Students have access to desktop publishing facilities, a radio studio and a broadcast-quality multi-camera television studio. Students participate in broadcast for community stations and write and produce an edition of the School 's own magazine. Attendance The Graduate Diploma of Journalism and Mass Communication is offered full-time on campus at the Gold Coast campus. You may choose to study courses at other campuses if or where the program structure allows. As a full-time student you will generally attend 10-15 hours of scheduled classes per week throughout the semester. Classes may be scheduled during the day and evening throughout the week. Students may take a reduced study load. You will be classed as a part-time student if you enrol in less than 30 credit points per semester. International students must maintain a full-time study load. Weekend Classes The Graduate Diploma of Journalism and Mass Communication includes some optional courses which may be scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays between the hours of 9.00 am and 5.00 pm, and it is expected that if you enrol in these courses you will be available to attend.
