The Bachelor of Business with Honours is a 120 point, one-year programme which provides exceptional BBus graduates with postgraduate study and research experience. Honours students develop postgraduate research capability and extend their understanding of a specialist business field. They work closely with academic staff, researchers and other high performing students in a learning environment which challenges them to excel. An honours degree demonstrates a high level of achievement that is recognized by employers in New Zealand and overseas and leads to greater opportunities for further study.

GRADUATION OUTCOMES
- Advanced knowledge and skills in a specialist field of business and the ability to apply them.
- Evaluate critically the findings and discussions in the literature.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT
- Applicants are expected to have completed an undergraduate degree or equivalent with a B average or better in the field in which they propose to undertake further study.
STRUCTURE
To graduate with the Bachelor of Business with Honours, students must successfully complete 120 points:
• Coursework Discipline papers (60 points in total)
• Research Methodology (15 points), AND either Qualitative Analysis or Quantitative Analysis (15 points)
This ensures that all students are able to critically analyse and evaluate the research and professional literature in business and begin their advanced studies in business with an appreciation of the current issues and controversies in the field.
• A supervised Research Project of 30 points is the final stage of the Honours degree.

FURTHER STUDY
Successful completion of the Bachelor of Business with Honours enables the graduate to complete the Master of Business in a further one year full time. Graduates of BBus Hons normally with first class honours can apply for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme.
