Fashion technology is a hands-on business, and this calls for people with the skills to make the most of all the creative opportunities. This two-year Diploma provides training in fashion and design technology to meet industry requirements in business, design and manufacture. The curriculum is structured to enable students to develop new skills and new ways of thinking in the field of applied fashion technology.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • NCEA: 48 Level 2 credits including 8 Level 2 credits in a language rich subject
  • CIE: Total 60 points at UCAS, including a language rich subject
  • Portfolio of art work
  • Interview may be required

 

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for whom English or Māori is not their first language are required to provide proof of an acceptable pass/grade gained in an accepted English language test. 

 

THE KEY SKILLS YOU WILL ACQUIRE

The programme offers papers in patternmaking, garment construction and design as core areas of study. In the second year, students can select papers to create an individual pathway toward a related professional field in the fashion industry.
