This is a one year full time programme for students wanting to pursue further study and a career in art and design. The programme gives students experience in a range of art and design processes and research, and is designed to assist students to make well informed decisions about specialisations for future undergraduate studies in Digital, Spatial and Graphic Design, Fashion and Visual Arts. The programme provides a pathway qualification to allow entry to AUT undergraduate programmes in Art and Design.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- NCEA: 48 Level 2 credits including 8 Level 1 credits in a language rich subject
- CIE: Total 60 points at UCAS
- Portfolio of art work
- Interview may be required
Language Rich Subjects: English, History, Geography, Classical Studies,
History of Art or Media Studies, Economics, Te Reo, Physical Education,
Drama, Social Studies.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants for whom English or Māori is not their first language are required to provide proof of an acceptable pass/grade gained in an accepted English language test.
THE KEY SKILLS YOU WILL ACQUIRE
You will develop skills in working with a range of art and design materials and processes, and how to do research that helps support your own ideas and work. In your chosen area of design or art you will be taught how to develop a portfolio of work that will support you in doing further study or following a career in the creative industries.
