 The Diploma in Hospitality Management creates a platform for a variety of rewarding careers in the hospitality industry, from international hotels, restaurants, wine and beverage service and sales through to owner-operated catering operations. It has a practical focus with a strong theoretical and business foundation. Late applications will be accepted if the programme is not full. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS - NCEA: 48 Level 2 credits including 8 Level 2 credits in a language-rich subject
- CIE: Total 60 points at UCAS, including a language rich subject
- Interview may be required Language Rich Subjects: English, History, Geography, Classical Studies, History of Art or Media Studies, Economics, Te Reo, Physical Education, Drama, Social Studies.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS Applicants for whom English or Māori is not their first language are required to provide proof of an acceptable pass/grade gained in an accepted English language test. THE KEY SKILLS YOU WILL ACQUIRE
You will learn not only the fundamentals of food and beverage service, front office operations and culinary skills, but you will also be introduced to applied managerial subjects and be given a solid grounding in business skills including financial operations and services marketing. The Diploma is recognised by New Zealand’s top hospitality operators and the Hotel and Catering Institutes Management Association (HCIMA) in London. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Graduates will be equipped to work as a junior member of the management or operational team in a variety of hospitality operations. Many of our previous graduates now hold senior management positions within the hospitality industry while others are successfully employed in hotels, restaurants, wine sales, owneroperated catering operations and the tourism industry.
