Event management is a dynamic industry that has experienced huge growth in recent years, leading to a demand for industry relevant and recognised qualifications. ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS Applicants for whom English or Māori is not their first language are required to provide proof of an acceptable pass/grade gained in an accepted English language test. THE KEY SKILLS YOU WILL ACQUIRE
This diploma programme covers both the theory and operational skills required for successful event management. Practical skills are developed in papers such as event planning, event design, event production and advanced beverage studies. Students also study papers in marketing, public relations, communication and information technology. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Event co-ordinator or assistant for event managers and promoters, public relations consultants, local councils, community groups and non-profit organisation fundraisers.
