The Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism is designed for anyone from school leavers through to mature students who wish to gain entry to the hospitality and tourism industry or progress on to further study. You will build a broad understanding of the hospitality and tourism industry through a curriculum designed to develop the fundamental skills in culinary, hospitality and tourism. Our lecturers are dedicated professionals, ensuring that your education takes place in a realistic and market driven environment. They also take pride in students achieving their academic goals. Students can study one of three pathways which will provide a comprehensive introduction to the hospitality or tourism industry. The student selects a pathway to the career that they wish to pursue. PATHWAYS
Culinary Students studying the culinary pathway gain a strong practical knowledge of food and beverage service coupled with basic commercial cookery skills.
Graduates of this pathway can seek employment as trainee chefs or junior members of food and beverage service sectors working with supervision in a variety of hospitality operations. Staircasing into the Diploma in Culinary Arts is becoming a common step for Certificate graduates to choose.
Hospitality Students studying the hospitality pathway gain knowledge of the skills required to seek employment at an entry level in the hospitality industry.
Graduates of this pathway can seek employment working with supervision in food and beverage service or other areas of hospitality operations. You can also progress onto the Diploma in Hospitality Management.
Tourism Students studying the tourism pathway gain a basic knowledge of the skills required to seek employment at an entry level in the tourism industry.
Graduates of this pathway can seek employment working in the tourism industry. This pathway also offers an opportunity to staircase onto the Diploma in Travel and Tourism.
