Overview New media technology has opened up enormous opportunities, and you can be a part of these exciting developments by studying Digital Media Design within Victoria's four-year Bachelor of Design [BDes] degree. In this specialisation, you will explore contemporary theory and practice, and focus on the creative potential of interactive and dynamic media. You'll be studying in a building that is an inspiration in itself. The Faculty of Architecture and Design in central Wellington is located in a former cargo warehouse, converted into an award-winning and breathtaking space for serious students of design. Inside you'll find a dedicated digital design studio with state-of-the-art equipment. Your first year comprises general courses designed to give you basic design strategies and skills. After this you'll take courses closely aligned to your specialisation. The programme will ensure you have the skills to become an effective digital media designer or developer, or project or content manager within many settings. Your skills and insights will be valuable in a wide range of industries: entertainment and interactive TV, web- based commerce, education, training, games, business, and the public sector.
