The degree places emphasis on problem-solving and decision-making, leadership, cross-cultural communications and strategic thinking. It provides students with the leadership capabilities to springboard their careers in either the private or public sectors. The degree develops leadership and management skills through a range of core courses in business communications, managing human resources, marketing, international business, entrepreneurship and innovation, leadership and strategic management. Students may also choose to major in accounting, finance, marketing, international business or corporate sustainability. Studies from other areas of the university may also be included in the program. | Program Requirements
The Bachelor of Business Administration requires the completion of 144 units including: - At least 96 units to be taken within the College of Business and Economics (Schedule 1)
- Not more than 60 units at 1000-level with not more than 12 of these units from courses not listed in Schedule 1
- The following required courses:
- BUSN1001 Business Reporting and Analysis (6 units)
- ECON1101 Microeconomics 1 (6 units)
- ECON1102 Macroeconomics 1 (6 units),
- MGMT1001 Business Skills (6 units),
- MGMT3021 Leadership (6 units)
- At least one of:
- MGMT2003 Business Decision Making
- STAT1009 Business Statistics
- STAT1008 Quantitative Research Methods
- A sequence of study in Business Administration of at least 36 units consisting of:
- MGMT1003 Management, People and Organisations (6 units)
- MKTG2004 Marketing (6 units)
- BUSI2025 International Business (6 units)
- MGMT2030 Human Resource Management and Strategy (6 units)
- MGMT3015 Corporate Strategy (units 6)
- MGMT3027 Entrepreneurship & Innovation (6units)
(Students should note that MKTG2001 Marketing Research, a compulsory course in the marketing major, has either STAT1009 Business Statistics recommended or STAT1008 Quantitative Research Methods as a prerequisite).
