Program Code: IMPJ Program Level: Postgraduate SATAC code: 4CM001 Home Campus: City East Program Length (in EFTSL): 1.5 AimThis program provides motivated graduates from diverse disciplinary backgrounds with an advanced understanding of international best practice in project management adopted by many government and industry sectors worldwide.It also provides students with the opportunity to apply and develop knowledge via appropriate research studies. Entry requirementsApplicants should normally hold an honours degree, a four-year degree, a Graduate Diploma in Project Management or recognised equivalent qualification. Selection is based on academic merit. For international applicants for whom English is a second language, the minimum English language requirements are: International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic): with a minimum overall score of 6.0 obtained within the last two years or corresponding results from an equivalent test such as TOEFL or the appropriate Academic English language level delivered at CELUSA; or
Successful completion of a tertiary qualification at diploma level or above completed in Australia within the last two years; or
Successful completion of two or more years of tertiary study at diploma level or above conducted and completed in English within the last five years in a country in which: - English is an official language; or
- English is commonly used, as determined by the University.
Where the study in English was more than five years ago, this requirement may be satisfied by subsequent and recent work experience of two or more years duration in a setting where English is the language of business subject to satisfactory evidence as determined by the Program Director. Content/structureThe program requires the completion of eight core 4.5 unit courses related to project management by coursework plus Project Dissertation 1 & 2 courses which are 9 units each making a total of 54 units. Students continuing on to doctoral studies should take the Project Management Competency and Ethics and Research Techniques in Project Management options. Professional recognitionProject Management programs at UniSA are endorsed by the Australian institute of Project Management (AIPM). Fee informationFees for International students: $AU 21,000 per 1.0 EFTSL for students commencing in 2010.
Fees are calculated on a per Unit basis with 1.0 EFTSL = 36 Units.

Notes- The Principles of Project Management A course (BUSS 5142) should be undertaken at the first opportunity. The Applied Project Management (BUSS 5146) course should be undertaken towards the end of the program.
- The program is available on either a full-time or part-time basis.
- Project Dissertation 1 (BUSS 5295) and Project Dissertation 2 (BUSS 5306) would require an overall total of about 700 hours of student time to complete the project.
- Students who have completed the Graduate Diploma in Project Management program, or equivalent program will receive credit, subject to approval of the Program Director.
- The Project Management Competency & Ethics (BUSS 5296) and Research Techniques in Project Management (BUSS 5297) courses are for those students intending to progress to the Doctor of Project Management on completion of the Masters degree. Students must consult the Program Director prior to enrolling in these options.
