Program Code: DMEC Program Level: Postgraduate SATAC code: 4CM025 Home Campus: City West Program Length (in EFTSL): 1.5 AimThese programs provide graduates with the skills to identify, evaluate, develop and manage e-commerce projects, develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills, and develop intellectual and professional independence. Students will develop practical skills and knowledge in project management and communication through e-commerce projects. The Master program consists of six core and five elective courses totalling 54 units and can be completed within 12 months of intensive full-time study. The Graduate Diploma (e-Commerce) consists of five core and three elective courses totalling 36 units and can be completed within nine months of intensive full-time study. There are different pathways of study to be undertaken for business and non-business graduates. Entry requirementsApplicants would normally have completed a bachelor degree with a Grade Point Average (GPA) or 5.0 or above, or equivalent qualification. For international applicants for whom English is a second language, the minimum English language requirements are: International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic): Minimum score of 6.0 in Reading and Writing subscores and minimum overall score of 6.5 obtained within the last two years or corresponding results from an equivalent test such as TOEFL or the appropriate Academic English language level delivered at CELUSA; or Successful completion of a tertiary qualification at diploma level or above completed in Australia within the last two years; or Successful completion of two or more years of tertiary study at diploma level or above conducted and completed in English within the last five years in a country in which: - English is an official language; or
- English is commonly used, as determined by the University.
Where the study in English was more than five years ago, this requirement may be satisfied by subsequent and recent work experience of two or more years duration in a setting where English is the language of business subject to satisfactory evidence as determined by the Program Director. Content/structureThe program consists of 11 courses totalling 54 units. The program is also available for part-time study. Professional recognitionThis program has been accredited by the Australian Computer Society. Fee informationFees for International students: $AU 19,500 per 1.0 EFTSL for students commencing in 2010. Fees are calculated on a per Unit basis with 1.0 EFTSL = 36 Units. Fees for International students are determined one year in advance and are subject to variation. Rules- The course Academic Skills for IT Professionals, offered in two study periods per year, must be taken in the first available study period of the program, and if failed, must be repeated in successive study periods until passed. A student who enters the program with the required skills (as determined by the Course Coordiantor) will negotiate with the relevant Program Director the substitution of this core course with an elective.
- Students who have a background, or previous studies, in a particular course may substitute a course of equal value and standing with the approval of the program director.

Elective courses are offered subject to student demand and staff availability. Postgraduate courses offered within the University of South Australia or from other universities may be substituted for the elective course(s) with permission of the Program Director.
