Program Code: LMER Program Level: Postgraduate SATAC code: 4CM021 Home Campus: Mawson Lakes Program Length (in EFTSL): 1.5 AimTo provide a program of advanced study and skills development for the effective risk assessment and remediation of contaminated land, and the opportunity to develop and undertake an integrated research project. Entry requirementsApplicants would normally hold an honours degree in science, environmental science, technology, engineering, or agricultural science or a three-year undergraduate degree in any of the above fields or a recognised equivalent qualification with a minimum of two years relevant professional experience. For international applicants for whom English is a second language, the minimum English language requirements are: International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic): Minimum score of 6.0 in Reading and Writing subscores and minimum overall score of 6.5 obtained within the last two years or corresponding results from an equivalent test such as TOEFL or the appropriate Academic English language level delivered at CELUSA; or Successful completion of a tertiary qualification at diploma level or above completed in Australia within the last two years; or Successful completion of two or more years of tertiary study at diploma level or above conducted and completed in English within the last five years in a country in which: - English is an official language; or
- English is commonly used, as determined by the University.
Where the study in English was more than five years ago, this requirement may be satisfied by subsequent and recent work experience of two or more years duration in a setting where English is the language of business subject to satisfactory evidence as determined by the Program Director. Content/structureThe program requires the completion of courses totalling 54 units and comprises of 36 units of corecourses, plus 18 units of Assessment and Remediation Projects 1 & 2. Professional recognitionThe program is designed to provide the educational requirements which, when linked with appropriate industrial experience, could enable graduates to apply for "certification" from the Australian Contaminated Land Management Association. Fee informationFees for International students: $AU 17,000 per 1.0 EFTSL for students commencing in 2010. Fees are calculated on a per Unit basis with 1.0 EFTSL = 36 Units. Rules- Credit will not normally be granted for more than one third of the total units of the program.
