WHAT IS REMEDIAL MASSAGE AND SPA THERAPY This course is the integration of remedial massage therapy techniques with spa therapy skills to prepare students for an exciting career in the multi billion dollar spa therapy industry. Massage therapists with spa therapy skills are in demand in day spas and medi-spas not only in Australia but internationally. This course combines the full curriculum of the Diploma of Remedial Massage course, a Nationally Recognised Training Qualification, with ACNT's Postgraduate Advanced Certificate in Spa and Stone Therapy course. In addition to completing the full Diploma of Remedial Massage course students will learn spa operations, body treatments and a wide range of spa therapy treatments such as Vichy Shower, Indian Ayurvedic head massage, body wraps and scrubs. ACNT has invested heavily in facilities and equipment specifically for spa therapy training. ACNT's Spa Therapy Training Facility is a 'day spa within a classroom', with floor to ceiling wrap around glass providing unparalleled training environment for future spa and massage therapists. Students studying this course will also learn stone therapy, which is a treatment using heated and chilled hand carved stones. Students will learn various massage techniques that can be performed using different stones for added benefits that would not be possibly with the therapist's own hands. Graduates of this course may be eligible to sit ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council) Diploma examinations. Fees are payable. ITEC is a leading UK based accreditation body. CLINICAL TRAINING AND FIRST AID This course requires 150 hours of practical clinical training and the completion of 'Apply Basic First Aid - HLTFA1B'. COURSE INCLUSIONS Students enrolling in the entire course will receive ACNT’s own massage DVD, an ACNT t-shirt that must be worn during clinical training, a container of ACNT massage balm and two towels that must be brought clean to each lecture.
