WHAT IS INTEGRATED BODY THERAPIES? Integrated Body Therapies encompasses a wide variety of therapies that involve the physical manipulation of the muscles and fascia of the body as well as stimulation of energy flow and organ systems. Such therapies include remedial massage, reflexology, shiatsu, trigger point therapy, and exercise therapy. This is the most comprehensive course in Integrated Body Therapies on offer in Australia today and is for the student who wants to study a large number of subjects relating to massage therapy and the musculoskeletal system. Students will learn a variety of techniques such as remedial massage, shiatsu, lymphatic drainage, trigger point therapy, aromatherapy, reflexology, exercise therapy, myofascial release and biomechanics. This course includes the full curriculum of the Diploma of Remedial Massage course from the National Health Training Package HLT02 and graduates receive this qualification in addition to their Diploma of Integrated Body Therapies. Students also complete the full Certificate IV in Aromatherapy curriculum and additionally receive this qualification. This course is compliant with the national standards for massage practitioners. These standards may be required by some health funds, employers and associations as well as other colleges' and universities' recognition programmes for further study. The Diploma of Integrated Body Therapies course allows graduates to practice as remedial massage practitioners and has a very high level of recognition with most of the major health funds and employers in Australia. Graduates of this course may be eligible to sit ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council) Diploma examinations. Fees are payable. ITEC is a leading UK based accreditation body. CLINICAL TRAINING AND FIRST AID* This course requires 200 hours of practical clinical training and the completion of 'Apply Basic First Aid - HLTFA1A'. Course Inclusions Students enrolling in the entire course will receive ACNT’s own massage DVD, an ACNT t-shirt that must be worn during clinical training, a container of ACNT massage balm and two towels that must be brought clean to each lecture. ADD A SPECIALISATION ACNT has a wide range of courses for massage therapists wishing to specialise in certain areas. These courses offer a significant broadening of skills creating additional career opportunities. DEGREE PATHWAY On completion of this course graduates may apply to Charles Sturt University for entrance into the Bachelor of Health Science (Complementary Medicine) degree using this qualification to gain advanced standing. A new degree pathway with Charles Sturt Universirty is the Bachelor of Clinical Practice (Paramedic) programme. This is an exciting joint programme enabling graduates an unqiue skill set for a career with sporing teams or in the medical environment.
