Why choose this program? The program is designed for registered nurses who are hospital-trained or who hold a Diploma in Nursing or equivalent, and who wish to upgrade their qualifications. The program will give you the skills to critically evaluate the ethical, legal and professional aspects of nursing practice. You will be required to complete eight courses over twelve months of full-time or equivalent part-time study. Attendance This program is offered full-time and part-time, on-campus and off-campus. For part-time, on-campus students, sufficient classes are timetabled in the evening to allow students in full-time employment to undertake the program on a part-time basis. Students undertaking the program by full-time study may be required to attend some evening classes. Program resources may be available via the internet. Professional recognition This program does NOT lead to registration with the Queensland Nursing Council. Career opportunities You will be equipped to further your nursing career in the clinical, research, education and management areas. You will also be eligible to apply for entry to specialised nursing postgraduate programs.
