The Bachelor of Engineering in Wireless degree program begins with a solid foundation of basic sciences and core electronics engineering and then focuses on the underlying technologies used in wireless systems and wireless telecommunication networks. This includes electromagnetics, antennas, digital and analogue electronics, signal processing and telecommunication systems. Optional units allow the student to concentrate on computer networking, optical technology, information coding and computer hardware and software. A range of combined degree programs are also available in science, arts, business administration, and entrepreneurship.

This degree is suitable for those who are interested in pursuing a career as a wireless Engineer. Wireless Engineers design, build and manage systems that carry out the transmission and broadcasting of information using wireless signals including radio waves and microwaves. Wireless systems are important in a range of communication technologies such as mobile telephones, local-area communication networks, broadband networks, satellites, radio and television broadcasting and emerging areas such as radio-frequency identification tags.  
Career Opportunities:
A broad range of career opportunities exist for engineers from sales, management, technical projects, and research and development. Engineering graduates are recognised for their ability to easily adapt to a broad range of jobs.

Work Experience Requirements: None before commencing the course. Students will have to take twelve weeks industry work experience. Students usually do this in the mid-year breaks.

  • TOEFL (paper based test): Minimum 580 overall, with 53 Listening, 52 Reading, 59 Structure/ Written Expression, 5.0 TWE

  • TOEFL (internet based test): Minimum 92 overall, with 18 Listening, 17 Reading, 22 Writing, 22 Speaking
