The PGDipCS is a postgraduate diploma offering a blend of contextual and creative options.

Students choose papers to suit their individual interests, including a core research methods paper and at least one paper that contextualises current developments in media & communication studies. Further choices include other contextually oriented papers and a range of creatively focussed papers.

Students are not required to complete a dissertation but can develop an in-depth project, which can take a traditional academic form or can include a creative component (such as a screenplay, in-depth journalism, digital media artefact, radio programme, or public relations campaign).

The PGDipCS can lead into further study; successful students can apply to enter the second year of the MCS or the MCW.

Level: 9
Points: 120
Duration: One year full time / Maximum two years part time
