Finance is one of the most dynamic areas of study in business, dealing with capital, markets and valuation. It's an analytical discipline focusing on critical decisions faced by individuals, corporations and non-profit organisations. Business students generally need to have a sound understanding of the financial process. The finance major consists of three interrelated core areas: financial markets and institutions, investments and portfolio theory and corporate (managerial) finance. Other topics interwoven within these core areas include international finance and financial risk management. The aim of the finance major is to produce graduates qualified to take on the duties of firms' financial management as well as for positions within financial markets. There is vast demand for finance graduates at national and international level and in private and public institutions, and top students can command very high salaries. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES - Actuary
