We live in an island nation with an ever-growing interest in the surrounding ocean. A strong grounding in basic science forms a basis for developing and focusing on marine ecology and aquaculture. The science underlying aquaculture and a knowledge of aquaculture practices throughout New Zealand and the world will enable better management of marine resources. ENTRY REQUIREMENT - University Entrance (UE) is the minimum entry requirement and science subjects are useful but not required.
- Preferred subjects at Level 3 on entry: Biology, Chemistry, Statistics and Modelling.
THE KEY SKILLS YOU WILL ACQUIRE
You will acquire a broad understanding of Aquaculture as practised in New Zealand along with supporting knowledge of one or more appropriate fields. You will also have practical skills and you will be skilled in report writing, presentations and statistical data analysis. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES - Aquaculture business owner
