Physiotherapists have a huge role to play in today’s society – from helping rehabilitate people with sports injuries to working with accident victims and tackling the challenges of community health. The BHSc (Physiotherapy) reflects the diverse nature of the physiotherapist’s role. The degree provides a comprehensive education in both the physiological and psychological aspects of care, and includes at least 1000 hours of clinical practice in the field. Placements are located from Wanganui to Northland and students are usually required to have more than one of their placements outside the Auckland region.

The programme ensures that graduates have the highest academic, technical and clinical competencies, and the knowledge, skills, attitudes and beliefs required for registration as a physiotherapist in New Zealand.
