A career in occupational therapy is all about helping people participate in everyday activities that contribute to their health and wellbeing. A degree in occupational therapy is an intensive programme, which involves learning in the classroom and field. Students gain a working knowledge of people, their activities and the environments in which they live. The AUT programme offers plenty of opportunities to try newly-learned skills and techniques. You will be challenged, engaged and encouraged to make the most of your talents, and you will learn how to apply them in real-life situations. Graduates are eligible to apply to register as an occupational therapist in New Zealand and can apply to practise in other countries.
