The Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Teaching provides graduates with knowledge and skills to design programmes of learning that promote flexibility, collaboration and critical inquiry in adult learners. Graduates will develop their ability to take effective action and apply their specialist competence, in an adult education setting. The programme promotes the view that skilful adult educators are also reflective practitioners. It has been designed to ensure that students are able to use literature, educational technology and critical reflection to assist them in forming judgments, making decisions about planning and delivery and evaluating learning experiences for their adult students.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • In exceptional circumstances, an applicant may be admitted who has not completed a three-year tertiary qualification, subject to their providing evidence that satisfies the programme Board of Studies of their ability to study at the requisite level.

 

SPECIAL ADMISSION

Applicants over 20 years of age who do not hold a university entrance qualification (such as NCEA or CIE) may qualify for university entrance via Special Admission.
