The Bachelor of Education (Pasifika Early Childhood Teaching) is designed to equip early childhood educators with the skills, knowledge and attitudes they need to be effective teachers in a Pasifika early childhood setting or to work with Pasifika early childhood children.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- University Entrance
- Interview, police clearance, references and CV
- Must meet New Zealand Teachers Council requirements
Note: Entrance to university does not guarantee admission to a specific programme of study.
SPECIAL ADMISSION
Applicants over 20 years of age who do not hold a university entrance qualification (such as NCEA or CIE) may qualify for university entrance via Special Admission.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants for whom English or Māori is not their first language are required to provide proof of an acceptable pass/grade gained in an accepted English language test.
THE KEY SKILLS YOU WILL ACQUIRE
This programme equips students with the skills, knowledge and attitudes they need to be effective teachers in a range of early childhood settings and in Pasifika settings in particular. It successfully integrates theory and practice and has been developed with specific regard to the context of early childhood education within Aotearoa/ New Zealand with an emphasis on Pasifika peoples.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
- Graduates will be eligible to apply for provisional teacher registration
- Member of teaching team in a diverse range or early childhood education settingsk but particularly Pasifika centres
- Management of a Pasifika or other early childhood education centre
