Program Code: 5499 Commencement: Semester 1 (March) or Semester 2 (July) Program Duration: 1 year Estimated Annual Tuition Fees: A$23,280 Program StructureThis program involves 48 units of credit of study for people wishing for a solid grounding in the frameworks (especially sustainability), tools and basic disciplinary knowledge relevant to environmental management. It is fully articulated with the Master of Environmental Management. Core Courses IEST5001 Frameworks for Environmental Management 6 IEST5002 Tools for Environmental Management 6 Fundamental Knowledge Courses Normally 4 on basis of previous disciplinary qualifications/ experience 24 Elective Courses Specialist electives chosen from UNSW-wide list 12 Determination of the Fundamental Knowledge courses to be taken is through consultation with the Program Co-ordinator and based on previous qualifications and experience. If less than 4 Fundamental Knowledge courses are taken the remaining units of credit will be taken as specialist electives. In special circumstances the Program Co-ordinator may approve substitution of a fifth Fundamental Knowledge course in place of the specialist elective. Choice of specialist electives is through consultation with the Program Co-ordinator and based on previous experience, needs and timetabling constraints.
