Program Code: 8619 Commencement: Semester 1 (March) or Semester 2 (July) Program Duration: 1.5 years, but can be completed in 1 year by taking select compressed courses offered in short course or distance mode. Estimated Annual Tuition Fees: A$23,280 Program StructureThe Master of Environmental Management has courses totalling 72 units of credit (UOC). This is made up of: - 3 core courses (18 UOC)
- 4 Fundamental Knowledge courses (normally 4 out of 6, but see note below) (24 UOC)
- remaining units of credit (generally 30) to be taken as electives or a combination of electives and a project. The project (only available to students with a credit level average) may be substituted for 1, 2 or 3 electives; that is, 6, 12 or 18 units of credit.

The Fundamental Knowledge courses to be taken will be determined following discussion of academic qualifications and experience with the Program Co-ordinator. Where students can demonstrate sufficient disciplinary background or experience they may, with the permission of the Program Co-ordinator, take fewer than 4 Fundamental Knowledge courses with additional electives in their place. In exceptional cases, and with permission of the Program Co-ordinator, students may be permitted to take more than 4 Fundamental Knowledge courses if their Program comprises a significant specialist theme in the electives taken and there is a demonstrated need in terms of basic disciplinary knowledge. Choice of ElectivesStudents may choose from a wide range of courses from numerous disciplinary areas. The choice of electives should take place in consultation with, and must be approved by, the Program Co-ordinator. Students may enhance their specialist expertise in a particular field or expand their knowledge and skills into new areas. The Program Co-ordinator will assist to tailor programs to meet the special needs of each student. It should be noted that courses may have pre-requisites, which need to be satisfied before students can enrol and that courses will not necessarily be available in each session. Careful planning at the start of the program should help to optimise your access to your chosen courses.
