Program Code: 5669 Commencement: Semester 1 (March) or Semester 2 (July) Program Duration: 1 year Estimated Annual Tuition Fees: A$23,280 This Graduate Diploma program is intended for students wishing to become professional ergonomists. It provides students with the competencies to identify ergonomics hazards in human-technology environment systems, to assess their associated risks and to use a user-centred, systems approach to develop controls for the hazards. Entry RequirementsA recognised Bachelor degree in a related area or an equivalent qualification at an acceptable level. Other academic and/or professional qualifications may be considered. Program StructureThe program consists of courses totalling 48 units of credit (UOC). It is the second stage in an articulated sequence of Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Science and Technology programs in Ergonomics. Fundamental Knowledge Courses (6 UOC) ANAT6151 Introductory Functional Anatomy 3 SESC611 Physical Principles of Safety 1 3 Students with no statistics in their background will have to do the following course in addition to the total load: SESC6010 Descriptive Statistics 3 Core Courses (42 UOC) SESC9101 Occupational Health and Safety 6 SESC9201 Safety Risk Management 6 SESC9411 Principles of Ergonomics 6 SESC9421 Applied Ergonomics 6 SESC9431 Physical Ergonomics 6 SESC9441 Ergonomics and New Technology 6 SESC9541 Assessment of Workplace Environment 6 Courses SESC9421, SESC9431, SESC9441 and SESC9541 require attendance at 3 or 5 day, on-campus workshops.
