Entry RequirementsA recognised Bachelor degree in a related area at an acceptable level. Other academic and/or professional qualifications may be considered. Program StructureThis program consists of courses totalling 48 units of credit (UOC). It is the second stage in an articulated sequence of Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Science and Technology in Occupational Health and Safety or the Master of Safety Science. Fundamental Knowledge Courses (12 UOC) ANAT6151 Introductory Functional Anatomy 3 SESC6010 Descriptive Statistics 3 SESC6110 Physical Principles of Safety 1 3 SESC6800 Fundamentals of Toxicology 3 Plus Core Courses (24 UOC) SESC9101 Occupational Health and Safety 6 SESC9201 Safety Risk Management 6 SESC9301 Safety, Health and Environmental Risks 6 SESC9541 Assessment of the Workplace Environment 6 Plus Elective courses (12 UOC) Electives may be chosen from the elective courses offered in the Master of Safety Science program, or from other Schools within the University, subject to the approval of both the relevant program authorities. Note: Transfer credit for Fundamental Knowledge courses may be awarded to students who can establish that they have equivalent knowledge in these courses by reason of previous tertiary study or completion of an exemption test. Other courses may be substituted for Fundamental Knowledge courses subject to the permission of the program authority.
