Program StructureThis program involves study of advanced treatments of all areas of biotechnology. It consists of lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, case history studies and a supervised project. A total of 36 units of credit (UOC) must be completed which is made up of core and elective courses. Core Courses (24 UOC) BIOT7180 Biotechnology Research Project 1 6 BIOT7070 Recombinant Protein Expression Systems 6 BIOT7160 Genomics and Proteomics 6 BIOT7190 Biotechnology Research Project 2 6 Plus Elective Courses (12 UOC) One of the following elective courses (6 UOC) BIOT7072 Eukaryotic Cell Physiology and Stem Cell Biology 6 BINF9100 Bioinformatics Methods and Applications 6 Plus one of the following elective courses (UOC) BIOT7071 Biological Engineering 6 BIOT7081 Environmental Biotechnology 6 Subject to the approval of Program and Course Coordinators, one of the elective courses (6 UOC) may be replaced with a 6 UOC course from another Department or School within UNSW.
