This program is structured so that students can specialise in teaching Dance in high schools with either Chinese, Drama, Economics/Business Studies, English, Literacy/English as a Second Language (ESL), French, Geography, German, History, Indonesian, Japanese or Spanish as a second teaching area. The majority of courses studied in Years 1–3 will be dance, dance related and supportive studies. There will also be some education theory courses. The intensive teacher preparation component of the program including practice teaching, will be completed in Year 4.
Career OpportunitiesStudents are qualifi ed to teach dance in high schools, private dance studios, dance administration, and further academic study. The program functions as a solid foundation for further dance training leading to a possible future as a professional dancer or choreographer.
