By combining Education courses with standard Arts courses, it is possible to graduate with the combined award of BA BEd, recognised as professional qualifi cations for high school teaching.
Two Arts majors (plans) should be taken in recognised school teaching subjects—for example History and English. Education courses are studied in all four years of this program. Years 3 and 4 involve practice teaching in allocated secondary schools. Teaching specialisations available in the BA BEd program are Chinese, Drama, Economics/ Business Studies, English, Literacy/English as a Second Language (ESL), French, Geography, German, History, Indonesian, Japanese and Spanish.
