Students will complete the Diploma of Hospitality Management at SBIT as their first year of study. They will then go on to complete industry specialisms offered by SBIT in order to qualify for the award of Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management. Students will be admitted to the Bachelor of Business (Hospitality Management) where they will undertake concurrent studies with SBIT and GU as specified in the program structure. The degree combines specialist courses in hospitality management and generic business skills, along with hospitality industry internship placements, to provide students with a solid understanding of the management functions of the industry. Through the integrated internships, it is anticipated that students will form significant networking relationships with industry partners whilst completing their program and will therefore have an extra edge in securing employment at the end of their degree program. The combined program ensures students have engaged in both operational and theoretical frameworks relevant to the hospitality industry, through industry practicum experience and specialism studies (offered through SBIT). Attendance The Bachelor of Business (Hospitality Management) is offered full-time on campus at the Nathan campus. As a full-time student you will generally attend 10-15 hours of scheduled classes per week throughout the semester. Classes may be scheduled during the day and evening throughout the week. International students must maintain a full-time study load. In Semester 2 (Year2) you are required to undertake work experience which requires part-time attendance at an approved industry-related location on multiple occasions.
