These can be purchased through the College.* | This qualification provides management level training for the horticultural industry as well as training in the areas of gardening, nursery, pests, diseases, weeds, plant knowledge, irrigation, soils, plant nutrition, horticultural machinery usage, chemical usage and horticultural safety. There is a huge demand for skills in horticulture and landscaping, which means that students can gain plenty of part-time work in the industry while they are studying. Program Components & Pathway This program can include multiple courses and different entry and exit points providing students the flexibility to begin at the most suitable stage and continue studying till they reach their desired outcome. Please see the study pathway diagram below.  General Entry Requirements and Pre-requisites Entry into this program requires the completion of any Certificate III in Horticulture. The Cert III entry requirements are normally the equivalent of Australian Year 10 with passes in English, Maths & Science. For Yr 10-11 and Yr 12 academic equivalence, please refer to the Entry Requirements Summary for your relevant country. This also details the normal English proficiency standard needed. Work Experience, Activities & Events Students at Murdoch will participate in major community projects such Garden Week and Garden Guru Seminars & Workshops. Career Outcomes Depending on the stage of completion, graduates can find employment in a large variety of horticulture occupations including in local and state government, nursery and turf, floriculture, gardening and the landscape industry. Further Study & University Options Graduates of the Certificate IV or Diploma may apply for entry into the Bachelor of Business (Horticulture) at Curtin university in W.A. Diploma graduates may receive some credit in the degree - please discuss this with the university course coordinator.
