Program Components & Pathway This program can include multiple courses and different entry and exit points providing students the flexibility to begin at the most suitable stage and continue studying till they reach their desired outcome. Please see the study pathway diagram below.  General Entry Requirements and Pre-requisites Entry into the Certificate IV requires the equivalent of Australian Year 12 with passes in English and Mathematics. Or students can commence with the Certificate III in Drafting before proceeding to the Diploma. For Yr 10-11 and Yr 12 academic equivalence, please refer to the Entry Requirements Summary for your relevant country. This also details the normal English proficiency standard needed. What You'll Learn in Each Course This program offers students broad training in engineering with specific training for the structural sector of the engineering industry enabling a career in the building and construction sector. Students learn about different areas in structural engineering, including construction, maintenance, project management, design, and testing. Students also learn about the design, drafting and analysis of concrete, soil mechanics, beams and columns, foundations and steel structures. The Advanced Diploma satisfies the academic requirements of an Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia and membership of the Institute of Drafting and Design. Career Outcomes Depending on the stage of completion, graduates can become a structural engineering draftsperson, associate or technician. Further Study & University Options Successful completion of the Advanced Diploma will allow entry to the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil & Construction Engineering) at Curtin University in W.A. Students will receive up to 12 months of credit in this 4 year degree.
