The programme aims to equip students with:

• a broad-based knowledge in engineering management;
• the professional knowledge in a specific field of engineering management, i.e. quality, supply chain or technology management; and
• the ability to apply the professional knowledge in a specific field of engineering management.

Entry

Applicants should satisfy the General Entrance Requirements and the following programme specific entrance requirements:

• hold a degree in engineering or in science, or equivalent; or
• be a graduate member or a non-member qualified for graduate membership of professional institutions, for example, the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), member institutions of the Engineering Council (UK) and other recognized professional institutions; or;
• have obtained associateship in an engineering discipline from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Applicants whose entrance qualification is obtained from an institution where the medium of instruction is not English should also fulfill the following minimum English proficiency requirement:

• TOEFL score 550 (paper-based test) or 213 (computer-based test) or 79 (interet-based test); or
• Overall band 6.5 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or
• Score 450 in the new College English Test (CET6) of China mainland or a pass in the old CET-6 test; or
• Other equivalent qualifications

Course

This programme is divided into three streams:

• Postgraduate Certificate in Quality Management (PGC-QM)
• Postgraduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management (PGC-SCM)
• Postgraduate Certificate in Technology Management (PGC-TM)

Core courses for all PGCs:

Core 1: Integrative Engineering Management I
Core 2: Operations Management
Core 3: Supply Chain Management 

Plus specific core courses for different PGCs

For Postgraduate Certificate in Quality Management (PGC-QM):
Core 1 + Core 2 + any two of 

• Managing Strategic Quality
• Quality and Reliability Engineering
• Quality Improvement: Systems and Methodologies

For Postgraduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management (PGC-SCM):
Core 1-Core 3 + any one of

• Industrial Marketing Management for Engineers
• Product Management
• Managing Management
• China Engineering Enterprise Management
