For non-local students, they will be admitted to these programmes for either full-time or part-time studies. Non-local students must maintain the required credit load for their full-time or part-time studies and any changes will require approval from the University. For undergraduate programmes, student visas will be issued for FT study only. |
The programme aims to equip students with: - a broad-based knowledge in engineering management including managerial, behavioural and communication skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills;
- the ability to integrate and apply the professional knowledge required in the management of all engineering projects and operations; and/ or
- the ability to independently carry out a research/development work, or a substantial problem-solving task, related to engineering management.
Entry Applicants should satisfy the General Entrance Requirements and the following programme specific entrance requirements: - hold a degree in engineering or in science, or equivalent;
or - be a graduate member or a non-member qualified for graduate membership of professional institutions, for example, the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), member institutions of the Engineering Council (UK) or other recognized professional institutions;
or - have obtained associateship in an engineering discipline from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Applicants whose entrance qualification is obtained from an institution where the medium of instruction is not English should also fulfill the following minimum English proficiency requirement: - TOEFL score 550 (paper-based test) or 213 (computer-based test) or 79 (interet-based test); or
- Overall band 6.5 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or
- Score 450 in the new College English Test (CET6) of China mainland or a pass in the old CET-6 test; or
- Other equivalent qualifications.

The full MSc degree award requires 30 credit units, with the completion of taught courses only, or taught courses plus the dissertation project. Students who have obtained 24 credit units may choose to exit the programme at the PGD award level.
