Graduates are highly respected in the Australian and international education communities for their detailed knowledge of curriculum and highly developed practical teaching skills.
The course consists of 32 units of study in the following categories: - Foundation Studies - Teaching Studies - Curriculum Studies - Professional Studies - Electives.
First year: Includes four foundation studies units.
Second and third years: At the end of the first year students nominate a preference for a P-10 or P-6 strand within the course. The P-6 pathway includes 6 elective units enabling students to choose an additional discipline sequence. The P-10 strand qualifies students to teach from Prep to Middle School Secondary and includes two minors for secondary registration purposes. A minor or major pathway is also available in Languages Other than English (LOTE) or Religious Education (Catholic).

IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 with no individual band score less than 6.5; or
TOEFL Paper-based Test: a minimum score of 600 with a score of 6 or better in the Test of Written English; or
TOEFL Computer-based Test: a minimum score of 250 with a score of 6 in essay writing; or
TOEFL Internet-based Test: a minimum score of 96 with no individual score less than 24; or
Satisfactory completion of an English language subject at Year 12 or equivalent level. This must have been completed in the last two years and at an academic level acceptable to the University; or
