The programme allows you to specialize in Environmental Physics, Materials Technology or Applied Optics. We equip you with applied physics knowledge to meet the regional needs in the industrial, commercial, government and education sectors. We will give you comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of physics principles and phenomena and their applications. You will learn how to select and use appropriate and effective instrumentation techniques, to critically examine the data capture methodology and the resulting data, and to evaluate the precision and reliability of the technique in use.

The programme also prepares you for further studies. Many graduates pursue postgraduate studies in radiation, meteorology and optics.

Careers

Upon graduation, you will be employed in such challenging careers as environmental consultants, manufacturers of optical equipment and components, electronic components, semiconductors or computer peripherals. You will also be eligible for careers in government departments such as the Hong Kong Observatory, the Environmental Protection Department, and the Trade and Industry Department.

Entry

To be eligible for admission, you must satisfy the General Entrance Requirements and the following specific entrance requirements:

  • E in AL or AS Physics or Engineering Science
