We aim to give you a firm foundation in chemical sciences and specialization in one of the following areas: analytical chemistry, industrial chemistry or environmental chemistry. You can develop the knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes required to achieve your personal development and find suitable employment in the industrial, commercial, government and educational sectors. Careers There is a wide range of career opportunities for graduates of this programme. You can seek employment in various government departments (e.g., Environmental Protection Department, Government Laboratory, Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department), consultancy companies, laboratories, commercial, industrial, or educational sectors, or you can further pursue postgraduate studies. Entry To be eligible for admission, you must satisfy the General Entrance Requirements and the following specific entrance requirements: or E in AS Chemistry plus one AL science subject and - E in one of the following Mathematics subjects: HKCEE Mathematics; or AS Applied Mathematics, or Pure Mathematics, or Mathematics and Statistics; or AL Applied Mathematics or Pure Mathematics

Basic Calculus and Linear Algebra In Years 2 and 3, you will undertake intermediate/advanced level chemistry courses in the same four areas. You can also participate in Problem-based Mentoring Learning (PBML) and the Industrial Attachment Scheme (IAS). PBL is a student-centred approach to teaching and learning that helps students to improve their learning skills. The IAS allows you to receive training in a genuine industrial working environment. In addition, the Department also offers Summer Research Scholarships and Summer Placement Scheme to promote research culture amongst undergraduate students by inviting them to work with the research group of staff in summer.
