The aim of the BBA (Hons) Electronic Commerce programme is to equip graduates with specialized knowledge and skills to effectively manage e-Commerce projects or establish successful new ventures (entrepreneurship) in e-Business. Students will gain a broad knowledge of core business and management related subjects, together with an in-depth understanding of the specific business, finance, legal, and technical issues involved in the exploitation of e-Business. In particular, students will learn the necessary knowledge and skills to plan, analyze, design, develop, and manage e-Business applications. Careers Upon graduation, you will predominantly assume roles as e-Commerce site designers, e-Business consultants, business analysts, or e-Business entrepreneurs. The career choices are not at all limited to technology companies, but instead can be found in an increasing number of regular organizations such as government, commercial banks, financial investment firms that are adopting e-business practices. You will also be prepared to grow into managerial positions. The e-Business knowledge and skills of our graduates are also applicable to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Hong Kong where, due to the small number of employees, an e-Commerce professional frequently has to cover a wide range of e-Commerce related activities, from business development and marketing all the way through implementation. Entry To be eligible for admission, you must satisfy the General Entrance Requirements and the following specific entrance requirements: -
D in HKCEE Additional Mathematics or Mathematics or E in AS Level Applied Mathematics, or Further Mathematics, or Mathematics and Statistics, or Mathematics with Applications, or Pure Mathematics, or Statistics or E in AL Applied Mathematics, or Further Mathematics, or Pure Mathematics Course Your study will cover three areas: -
Specific e-commerce courses -
General business courses shared with other BBA programmes in the Faculty, and -
General education courses common to all studies at CityU Among the specific e-Commerce courses. students will study subjects such as e-Business system technology foundations, systems analysis and design for e-Commerce, Web site design, e-Business entrepreneurship, CRM system management, IS project management, etc. Professional Accreditation Our graduates are qualified to apply for the professional membership of the Hong Kong Computer Society. In addition, they will be well prepared to sit for professional examinations for Oracle or Microsoft certifications. Bonus Features
