We will prepare students for responsible positions in the area of risk management in both private and public sectors. Students will learn the use of derivative instruments for financial markets such as funds, equities, bonds, commodities, currencies, assets and liabilities. Upon graduation, students will possess the mathematical fundamentals needed in financial theory and the necessary computer technology for the design and implementation of computer programs in solving financial problems. Interested applicants must have a strong mathematical and quantitative background. Careers Graduates will be employed to manage derivative instruments, such as futures, options and swaps, in a variety of financial markets. As Hong Kong expands its role as the leading financial centre in the Asia-Pacific region, there is an increasing demand for financial engineers.
