| | 2 years full time | | Tuition fee A$ 20,800 per course Description This course is for people who work or want to work in the alcohol and other drugs field and related fields within the community services and health industry. You will learn about interviewing and counselling; assessment and referral of clients; and preventative, educational and other community strategies relevant to the alcohol and other drugs field. You will also acquire skills in the provision of client services, planning and programming, networking, policy development and coordination of the work environment. Students in this course will be asked to complete a Student Declaration Form stating that their behaviour does not pose a serious threat to vulnerable people. Career Opportunities Drug and alcohol worker, drug and alcohol counsellor, case manager, or community educator. Articulation When you finish this course you can apply for advanced standing in a range of diploma courses in community services, welfare work, youth work, disabilities and aged care. You may also be eligible for more advanced study outside TAFE NSW. Entry Requirements - Year 12 or equivalent or qualify for mature-age entry
- Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs Work (3256) or equivalent
- IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 197 or equivalent
Course Structure To receive the Diploma of Alcohol and Other Drugs Work students must complete 16 core units and a wide range of elective modules. Core Units - Workplace learning III - AOD
