The Diploma is a competency based National Training Package. Students are able to continue to study this program at any TAFE college in Australia offering the Diploma. The program has been structured to build on previous learning experiences. It is therefore necessary to complete the program in the recommended sequence. The program focuses on developing skills using new technology to design, draw and present building plans. Courses include the principles of building construction, interpreting client briefs, building design and drawing plans using manual and computer-generated technical drawings. Entry Requirements English Proficiency: IELTS 5.5 (with no individual band less than 5.0) or TOEFL 530 or ISLPR 2+ and School Leavers must have completed Year 12 or equivalent with a Sound Achievement in English and Mathematics A or B or C Career Opportunities Architectural Technician, Building Designer Program Duration Full Time 76 weeks (approximately 19 months)
Program Articulation Students who have successfully completed the Diploma may receive some accreditation should they be accepted at University to study Architecture. Recognition of Prior Learning Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training. Applications CloseThere is only one intake per year, February. Applications can be made any time prior to the commencement of the program. CostThe cost of this program is $20 590. This cost does not include any materials (Please note textbooks or equipment must be purchased in addition). Materials cost approximately $410.
