To seek entry into the Degree Art-Gold & Silversmithing at RMIT or the equivalent course at Monash University. | | Course Duration 2 Years | | Course Commencement Dates February | | Entrance Requirements Australian Year 12 (or recognised equivalent) or relevant work experience. IELTS 5.5 or higher (or recognised equivalents). Mature Age. Upon application, students are required to submit a resume of their interest and experience in the jewellery industry. (A prior knowledge of technical terminology or design would be an advantage). | | Course Fee $AUD 9000 p.a. | | Skills Recognition - Exemptions/Transfers Students may be eligible for exemptions/transfers on the basis of previous qualifications. | | Assessment Methods Each module is assessed by the submission of practical exercises, written exercises, studio journal or combinations of the three. | | Materials Successful candidates will be required to purchase their own jewellery kit. The minimum requirements are discussed on the student's induction. The Jewellery Section will provide some basic materials - precious metal is not supplied by NMIT. A materials fee applies to all students and is set each year and advertised accordingly. | | Qualification As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised. On successful completion students will be awarded the Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology (Jewellery). |
