Course Description

The course has been developed in conjunction with industry for the vocational preparation of design skilled artists. It is being offered with the major studies in jewellery/gold & silversmithing.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of this course may establish their own product range, gain employment in product design / jewellery related areas, undertake apprenticeships or continue tertiary education in industrial design or gold and silver smithing.

Entrance Requirements

Australian Year 12 (or recognised equivalent) or relevant work experience. IELTS 5.5 or higher(or recognised equivalents). Mature Age. A recent portfolio relevant to course preference must accompany application.

$AUD 9000 p.a.

Skills Recognition - Exemptions/Transfers

Students may be eligible for exemptions/transfers on the basis of previous qualifications.

Assessment Methods

Assessment is by course work and folio presentation.

Materials

Throughout the course students are expected to supply additional materials when required.

Qualification

As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.  On successful completion students will be awarded the Diploma of Arts (Product Design).
